These images are very special to me... 1. Because Tucker's Daddy, Justin, + my husband have been friends since grade-school and my husband and I were both in his Mommy + Daddy's wedding. 2. Because I was there for his first breath into this world.
We did their Maternity photos out on the bluff where Justin + Sarah got married, it's a beautiful spot on Justin's family land. Thankfully the wood swing from their wedding was still there so of course I included that in some images. :) They had mentioned wanting me their to photograph the birth of their baby boy, but we hadn't discussed it too much. When the time came and Sarah was headed to the hospital I got a call from Justin to see if I could come over. I don't have any kids of my own and had never witnessed a baby being born before. But, I got a few tips from another good friend on how I could support them and decided why not!?. Sarah had already gotten pitocin so we didn't think it would be too long before baby arrived so I went home, grabbed my stuff, and headed straight there. (After stopping and picking up some food for the new Dad lol) I got there around 5:30pm, but Tucker was a stubborn one and didn't arrive until just after midnight! It was nothing like I expected, but Sarah did amazing bringing her baby boy into this world. Unfortunately he had to be rushed off pretty quickly because he wasn't breathing very well so we didn't get to do any skin to skin photos right away, but I came back a couple days later and got to photograph Sarah learning to nurse, Dad's first time holding him, and his first bath from Mom and Dad!
Then, at just 6 days new I was able to photograph his newborn portraits in studio. :) Thank you so much to Justin and Sarah for allowing me to be a part of so many firsts in your life, I feel so honored to have been able to be there to capture it all on camera for you.
